How to Create a Text Image

Four steps from blank canvas to downloaded graphic — takes under 60 seconds.

Type your text into the text area
1

Write or Paste Your Text

Click inside the Your Text box and type anything — a quote, headline, announcement, or contact info. Press Enter to add new lines for multi-line designs.

Choose font, size and padding
2

Set Font, Size & Spacing

Pick a font from the dropdown, enter a font size in pixels, and adjust the padding to control whitespace around your text. Larger padding creates breathing room — great for quote cards.

Pick colors and text alignment
3

Choose Colors & Alignment

Use the color pickers or type a HEX code directly to set your font and background colors. Click Left, Center, or Right to position your text. Every change reflects instantly in the live preview.

4

Pick Format & Download

Choose PNG for crisp images with a transparent-capable background, or JPEG for a smaller file size ideal for web use. Hit Download Image and the file saves directly to your device.

  Pro Tips for Better Results

  • For Instagram quotes, try a 1080 × 1080 ratio — set font size to 72px with 80px padding for best impact.
  • Dark background + light font reads better in low-light environments and gets more engagement on social media.
  • Use PNG if your background color matches your website — it preserves crisp edges. Use JPEG when file size matters.
  • For watermarks, choose a light grey font color with white background, then overlay the PNG on your photos in any editor.

Why Use This Tool?

No Photoshop. No Canva account. No watermarks. Just your text — beautifully rendered in seconds.

Instant Live Preview

Every keystroke and color change updates the canvas in real time — what you see is exactly what you download, no surprises.

100% Private

Text rendering uses the HTML5 Canvas API entirely inside your browser. Nothing you type is ever transmitted to or stored on any server.

Full Color Control

Pick any color using the visual picker or type a 6-digit HEX code directly. Both font and background colors are fully customizable.

Text Alignment

Left, center, or right — choose the layout that fits your design. Center works for quotes; left suits structured banners and headers.

PNG & JPEG Export

Download in PNG for maximum quality and transparency support, or JPEG for smaller file sizes that load faster on websites and emails.

Unlimited & Free

No daily limits, no watermarks, no forced sign-up. Generate and download as many text images as your project demands — permanently free.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about this tool.

Yes — completely free with no hidden charges, no subscription, and no account required. There is no daily limit on how many images you can generate or download.
No. The entire rendering process runs inside your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your text and color settings are never sent to any server and are never stored or logged anywhere. Close the tab and everything is gone.
PNG is a lossless format — it produces the sharpest possible text rendering and supports transparency. Ideal for print, overlays, or any project where quality matters.

JPEG compresses the image, making the file smaller. It does not support transparency but loads faster in emails and websites. Good choice for social media posts where storage or load time is a priority.
Yes. Simply press Enter in the text area to add a new line. Each line is rendered at the same font size with automatic line spacing (1.2× the font size), so your multi-line image looks clean without any extra configuration.
Create your watermark text (e.g. your website URL or © Your Name), choose a very light grey or white font on a white background, then download as PNG. In any photo editor or design tool (including free ones like Canva), import your photo and place the PNG overlay on top, then adjust its layer opacity to around 30–50% for a subtle watermark effect.
Absolutely. Next to each color swatch is a text input showing the current HEX code (e.g. #1E293B). Type or paste any valid 6-digit HEX code directly into that box and the color — and the live preview — will update instantly.
The canvas has a fixed width of 800px. If your text is very long, it will overflow beyond the canvas edge. To fix this: increase the padding so text wraps visually, reduce the font size, or break your text into shorter lines using the Enter key in the text area. A smaller font size with more padding generally produces the most readable output.
For a sharp, share-worthy Instagram square:

Font size: 64–80px
Padding: 70–90px
Alignment: Center
Colors: High contrast — dark background with white or cream text, or white background with dark text
Format: PNG

Keep the quote to 1–3 short lines for the most visual impact.
